I consider myself lucky to have seen her those last six months. Don passed away in Seattle two years ago. A talented artist, Francis was an inspiration to her entire family. It's great to see a few of Fran's paintings in high-res. This was my third trip to the dunes. The last time was with buddies Hitesh and Eman in 2004. Before that with Sasha, Rudy, and Vish in 2000. Highlights of the trip included unexpected great company, waking up to snow covered mountains after a rainy night, the brotherhood of leprechauns and kangaroo rats, and the drive home along US395.
